What was it that made you a fan of CDG?
For me, it was seeing them for the first time (1/25/93). I had not heard of them, but I went with some friends to go see them. Needless to say, I was blown away and have been a fan ever since.

For me it was seeing Chris bleed all over his guitar in the 1st set, take a break and pour super glue into the cuts on his fingers and then go out and burn the house down in the 2nd set!

For me it was seeing him open for my long time favorite bluesman Buddy Guy in 1995. I can still remember that show, having seen many more since then...there was an amazing (almost spiritual) version of Hendrix's Third Stone from the Sun that had me sold right then and there. whew

I was on business in '94, when I heard him on the radio station somewhere around Phoenix. I lived in Atlanta at the time and was pleasantly surprised to see him coming to play at a club there. I checked it out and was blown away!

My introduction to CDG was way back, and thanks to my good friend, Tom McMickle, in Abilene. I became a true diehard when I saw him in Philly in 1992. He remembered me from '88 and I helped him set up his equipment before the show and we talked for an hour or so. Since then, he's always remembered me by name and we get to visit, usually after his shows. Every time I watch "First-Timers" jaws drop, it makes me smile. It happens every show, how could it not. I remember a show in Philly where three guys just wandered in off the street while Chris was tuning/warming up and they were blown away at that. And then to see their faces when Chris blasted of into My Way Down and then Shiloh was perfect. They never moved from the front of the stage all night. I love turning friends onto Chris' live performances. He is truly one of the nicest performers, and he never fails to visit with the fans who hang around after the shows.

As a blues guy I heard the buzz about Chris way back but read the reviews about his music at Amazon.com all comparing him so SRV so didn't follow up. Big mistake reading those reviews. So finally I check him out on YouTube ---BLOWN AWAY! Couldn't pick up his CD's fast enough. The guy is nothing like SRV and I gotta say nothing and has a sense of timing, rhythm and super funkiness all his own (what am I telling you all for? You already know). Absolutely love his stuff and learning to play it is no small task. Love YouTube cause he's never going to be coming to a town near me.

I heard about Chris while listening to Ted Nugent as a guest morning dj on ZRock in 1994. Ted was telling the audience how incredible this Chris Duarte was and that they were playing some shows together. I figured if Ted thought this guy was good, I had to check him out. I picked up "Sugar Texas" and was hooked. Then I saw him live. Blown away to say the least.
