Hello Eevryone!
It is so great to have the place like this and to share with many people my admiration about Chris, his music and his guitar!

I've heard CDG first album in '95. Just came into CD shop and asked for some modern blues album. The guy gave me "Texas Sugar" and said - you will never be disappointed! From that time I was never dissappointed with Chris and his music! Maybe only that time that he stayed silent. As I am faraway - just in 2006 I had a chance to see Chris in Moscow. Now with Internet It is much easier to find concert files and even videos! That's great! No limits, no borders!

Hi fellow CDGer's. Been a fan since the StratMagik CD was released, way back when. Chris is easily the best live act I've seen, and I've seen a bunch. Plus, most venues are usualy pretty intimate, and you can get up close and personal. He's also a genuinely a nice guy. Always seems to have time for his fans. From personal experience and seeing it happen so many times, once you've survived a live Duarte set or 2, you'll be hooked as well. A truly gifted and intensely imaginative guitar slayer. So, greetings to all from Naples, Fl.

I became interested in seeing CDG after hearing "My Way Down" on our local blues show (Strickley Blues). I didn't become a "fan" until I saw them live in 1998, where they played a SMOKIN' 4 FOUR HOUR SHOW!!!!!! in Fort Collins, Colorado. I was blown away and forever hooked!

I have a question for anyone and/or everyone. I've seen Chris and the band several times over the past 14 years, and each time I've been blown away. He's a great guy too and takes the time to speak with fans all the time. Why is it that he seems to have a totally different band each and every year (or at least every album)?

I saw Chris and KWS play at the Cains in Tulsa about 10 years ago. Saw him again last night at the "Kitchen Pass" in Joplin MO. That was a geat show! Small cozy venue. Chris' fingers were a mess, I could not believe he was playing like that without skin on his fingers. I guess it shows just how bad he still wants it. After the show there were a few people asking about his pedals and equipment. I asked him how he got his Leslie sound and he told me! How cool is that? As far as changing his line up goes I think he trys to keep it fresh and new. Finding the right people to play with is the hardest part IMHO (tastes in music, ethics and vices). Being in Chris's position makes it easy... if he doesn't like it... you leave.

Thanks for joining! I'm guessing you picked up a flyer at the Joplin show.
When I went to the Springfield show, I asked and Chris graciously allowed me to leave them so they could set them out at each show. He seemed very appreciative and said he would try and check out the forum when he gets a chance.
Like some of you mentioned, Chris really is a very nice guy. I'm sure any of you that have met him will agree to that. It is very cool that he takes the time to talk to his fans.
It isn't just the fans that think he's a great guy. I talked with Matt for a few minutes in Joplin. He said he really likes what he's doing now and one of the best things about it is that Chris is such a nice guy and he treats everyone great.

The Chris Duarte Group has had numerous personnel changes over the years (especially the drummers). This has been due to a wide variety of reasons, many if not all are typical of bands anywhere. Chris's last bassist, Joel Powell, lasted half a year before deciding to quit the road and play in his church band. Some other reasons include getting a better-paying gig in another band; life on the road wearing them out; physical ailments or age wearing them out; fights; getting canned; tired of drug usage; not getting paid enough; pursuit of other careers; being replaced by a better player; lack of a work visa; too many brown M&Ms...

Hello to all. My name is John, an East Coast (CT) CDG fan for many years. Stumbled across the band at Antone's in Austin in 1993 while visiting out there and been following ever since. Chris has built up a good following here over the last 5 years and we are fortunate to have him play here often. Twice coming up in June. Was (and still) a huge fan of SRV. Just saw the Dead twice, had a great time at both shows and all I can say about politics is that Roger Waters was right (or should I say correct). Been listening to "Animals" a lot lately ;D

Saw Chris for the first time New Years Eve in 95' at a small club called Club DaDa in Dallas. Up close and loud! Was hooked since. I try and catch his shows when he comes through. I've been lucky enough to spend some time talking to him before a couple of shows in Dallas and Ft. Worth and not only is he a hell of musician, but he takes the time to say hello and talk to you. I have never seen him leave before everyone had something signed. I would give him the title of hardest working musician any time. See ya next time in my town, Randy

Hello from a CDG fan from Germany! I only watched Chris once playing live in Frankfurt (GER), about one year ago; hope I will catch him in Switzerland next year. I have been into his music for more than 10 years now. Together with SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy he's my favourit Blues/Rock player.
