Although I have never seen Chris live I watch his YouTube stuff constantly and have a question about his musical style, particularly his lead breaks, that I thought would sit best here in the musicians section so here goes.
Often when he plays a lead break on a CD I understand it, the structure, melody, why he goes where he goes -at least for the most part, in my own limited way. But when I see him live (read YouTube) he seems to be doing some kind of eighth note chromatic scale thing that I don't even pretend to understand either in structure or melody. The lead break from a show in Moscow, sorry I don't have the YouTube link but maybe I can find it, semed incomprehensible to me, a lifetime guitarist. Can anyone explain what he's doing with that kind of rapid eighth note chromatic stuff?

If you purchase his "Axploration" DVD I believe you will get your answer. I'm very happy with mine. Thirty bucks for a guitar lesson from Chris Duarte... can't go wrong. Warning... not for the beginner but if anyone, player or not wants to see Mr. Duarte play his ass off up close... This DVD is great!

Why do dogs smile? Even though the sky is blue, that doesn't mean the stars aren't there. Chris is a mystery of the universe and a force of nature is all I've been able to come up with. A guitar player's guitar player.
