Anybody know what Chris is currently using for his live rig (amps)? He always sems to have an extra push over and above his already huge sound.

it's now a Chicago Blues box. Not sure of the model. Years ago it was 3 amps, a marshal, fender, and I believe a randal feeding the marshal. I LOVE the tone from the chicago blues box. If I could afford one, I'd be all over it

Just curious. Has Chris retired the strat? Haven't seen it in a while.

Chris has retired his '63 strat because it is quite fragile from years of hard playing (15 years now), plus it is valuable $$$. He is only going to use it for studio work and for special occasions.

The Chicago Bluesbox sounds really awesome. I think its the Buddy Guy model, a kind of Fender 59 Bassman clone. I have heard Chris last year in Germany, and he used one Fender 59 Bassman RI and one Fender 65 Super Reverb RI. The volume at both amps was very very low (at about 2 on the Bassman), however it still sounded very authentic. There is so much tone in his hands! W.r.t. his guitars: that Xotic Strat copy also sounds really good. Its a good substitute for his 63 strat. However, I dont like the look of that guitar too much: no wood to see through, colored headstock (although Chris seems to like that). However, it provides awesome tones - at least in Chris' hands.
